Give Me That Mountain

Promises… Promises…

Day two...

“Why does this dessert I made taste funny? It tasted so good over at Sally's.” “Why are we having trouble with money? We are generous, and we always tithe.” “It's just not right that Roberta has cancer. She is such a faithful woman—always helping anyone in need.”

Changing Position

Day four...

Are you sensing an aggression rising up on the inside? If you are just itching to say “No you don't, in Jesus' name!” to something trying to pin you against the wall, then you are in a good place. But it's not what we say that counts. It's the position we take. And to understand our position, we need to better understand Jesus' position as He walked this earth.

The Work We Do

Day seven...

Why the fascination with angels? Why does the appearance of an angel create such interest? A life‐changing teaching from the Bible does not have the same popular appeal as the sighting of an angel.

The Work We Do

Day eight...

What does it look like to be joined at the hip to God? If we can't see, smell, taste, touch, or hear Him how do we know if we are in His presence? How do we experience what we can't experience with our physical senses? How do we partner with Him in every thought, word, or deed? Where is He anyway?

Day five...

If you want to lose some weight, and you hear from friends about a nutritional supplement that aids in permanent weight loss, wouldn't you want to try it out? As long as the ground is half‐way dry and I don't hook a stump with the tree, I've been amazed at what I can pull with my truck in four‐wheel drive.

Day eleven...

I'll be the first to admit that Friday's article was hardly light reading. But some of you may be in a very real fight for your life, or for the life of someone you love. And you need to know that God is big enough and powerful enough to make any… any… any problem disintegrate under the weight of His promises.

Joy

Day two...

True joy cannot be experienced alone. The pursuit of happiness is not a solo activity. To get away from people by sitting down with your favorite book, watching your favorite movie, playing your favorite video game… even though you may be alone physically, you are not alone. You are interacting with the characters in your imagination.

Forgive?

Day three...

When a newly married couple wakes up together for the very first time (assuming it is the very first time) there is a certain fear of exposure. Everybody was on their best behavior yesterday. He was thoughtful… considerate. She was admiring… respectful. Everybody was looking good. His teeth were brushed… nails clean. She looked stunning… perfect hair… perfect makeup.

Forgive?

Day nine...

I'm just going to step right into it today, because we need a clear understanding of what it looks like to get rid of guilt and shame—God's way.
