Give Me That Mountain

Promises… Promises…

Day one...

I hadn't been a Christian very long, when my pastor asked me to teach a Sunday school class for seniors. I believe the youngest person in the class was in their late sixties. I had very little experience in relating to older people so I was terrified I might bring up a subject that might offend someone. I didn't think I should talk about sickness, or old age, or any other “senior” subject.

Kids and Our Words

For the past several days Mike has been talking about how to pray for our children. I want to add another perspective to the subject. Mike and I have been married ten years and we have two sons, two daughters, two sons‐in‐law, and one granddaughter between us. Only for the Super Saints

Do you sometimes disqualify yourself where spiritual matters are concerned? Do you think things like: “I'll never understand the Bible like my pastor does. I don't have the ‘gift’ of healing. I could never witness to someone.” We often believe that stuff is only for the “super saints.” I certainly had these thoughts for many years.

Goodness Gracious…

Day one...

“Goodness gracious” is an expression I heard frequently as a child. I have no idea where it came from, but I suppose it was a less offensive way, for religious folks, of saying, “Oh, my God!”

Trust in Action

Day five...

Trust is something we really don't trust. “You can trust me” is code for “My behavior will probably not meet your expectations, but I hope you won't notice.”
