Just a brief thought for the Federal holiday here in the U.S. today: Jesus changed the way we work. The work we do no longer flows out of our own strength, but out of His presence in our lives.
The Sabbath used to be a “time” of absolute rest, during which man drew strength for the week ahead. The Sabbath is now a “position” of absolute rest in Jesus, from which man draws strength from Jesus' finished work on the Cross.
There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. (Hebrews 4:9–11 KJV)
Have a good day
