Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day became a national holiday shortly after the bloody Pullman strike in 1894. Sadly, history is full of conflicts that have come about when the exchange of labor for services has become unfair in either direction.

But work remains a necessity for the human spirit. Without work we begin to rot on the inside. Mankind was created to work.

Make it your goal to live a quiet life, minding your own business and working with your hands, just as we instructed you before. Then people who are not Christians will respect the way you live, and you will not need to depend on others. (1 Thessalonians 4:11–12 NLT)

Have a safe and restful weekend,
